This allows me to convert PDF files to TIFF, JPEG, PNG, and BMP. I like it because the software that I use works much better with TIFF files, and my scanner will only scan to PDF.
The part I like best about the software is the hot directories mode that will monitor a directory and automatically convert it to the designated image. This is helpful, because once setup it doesn't require any technical knowledge. It also has a command line mode that would be useful if I needed to create any DOS batch files. Even though it's 2015, this is a useful feature, because I can create a batch file and schedule it with Windows scheduler.
The third mode is batch convert, which allows users to convert a large number of files.
Pros
- The three modes provides a choice of options that will meet any user's needs.
- Free trial available to let users try before they buy.
- Simple and easy to setup and use.
- Low cost - $27
Cons
- I'm not sure how to setup the hot directories mode to allow files of the same name to be converted (with renaming the output file).
- The application must be running in order to use hot directories mode; allowing this to be setup as a service would be helpful.
Overall, I believe this software is well worth the price. Visit the A-PDF to Image website at http://www.a-pdf.com/to-image
